The Oral Medicine and Radiology department focuses on the diagnosis and the management of all Dental, Oral and Maxillofacial diseases. We specialise in diagnosing and treating Oral potentially malignant disorders, Oral cancer, Salivary gland diseases, Orofacial pain and TMJ-associated problems. This field acts as a bridge between Medicine and Dentistry by diagnosing systemic diseases through their oral manifestation. After a thorough examination, we come to the primary diagnosis. We advise necessary investigation needed for diagnosis that includes both laboratory and radiological imaging. Oral Radiology includes basic imaging modalities like Intraoral Periapical radiographs, Occlusal Radiographs to Digital radiographs, and extraoral radiographs including OPG and lateral cephalogram. We are involved in managing mucosal lesions preventing them from malignant transformation, oral screening for cancers, tobacco cessation counselling, management of TMDs and Orofacial pain, also in age estimation and forensic odontology.
