This department was started by a legend, a renowned oral & maxillofacial surgeon & BC Roy awardee Prof. B.Srinivasan B.Sc, MDS, in the year 1988. The course duration is 3years, during the period the post-graduates will undergo training in all the allied fields of maxillo-facial region namely the ent. plastic and so on. The department has a special maxillo- facial ward 22 nos in medical college premises which is completely equipped with 20 beds as inpatient ward with adequate post operative care. This unit performs all types of major & minor cases in the maxillofacial region. The department guides 6 post-graduates which is filled through state & all india quota. Since it is situated in rural location - all types of maxillo facial- pathology, trauma, orthognathic, tmj disorders, cleft & oral cancers are very common. .from this department 35 batches has been passed out.
